This is a message from LCY Elastomers - Baytown located at 4803 Decker Dr. Baytown,TX 77520. LCY is making preparations to idle the plant in support of our planned turnaround scheduled for January 15 through February 16. As part of this process, increased flare activity may occur while lines are being cleared. No off-site impact is expected, as all activities will be conducted in a controlled and managed manner. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as necessary.

This is a courtesy message from Baystar located at 12212 Port Road in Pasadena, Texas. We are performing a planned shutdown of one of our processing units for scheduled maintenance. The planned shutdown takes place in stages. There will be intermittent periods of flaring from our Multi-point Ground Flare over the next 24 to 48 hours. Being at ground level, the Multi-point Ground Flare looks different than a typical Stack Flare. Our neighbors may be able to see flaring and hear noise. The flaring poses no danger to the community and no action is necessary. The flare is part of the facilitys safety and shutdown system. It has been fully tested to ensure it will operate as designed. We will take every precaution to minimize the duration of flaring and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Out of an abundance of caution, Lubrizol Deer Park facility has issued a internal shelter-in-place due to a release from a processing unit. Fence-line monitoring is in place, and the Lubrizol Emergency Response Team is actively working to resolve the situation. At this time, there is no impact to the community. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
